Feeding and After-School Program (ASP)
Sunday is ASP day in Project Pearls! After the feeding program for around 300 kids, we conduct the After-School Program where we do academic tutorials for grade school and high school kids. ASP aims to help the kids to excel in academics and to provide them with enrichment activities outside school. This academic support for the scholars also helps to curtail the drop-out rate from school.
We invite you to be an ASP volunteer in the community of Helping Land, Tondo! You will be a “teacher-for-a-day” as you will be assigned in a group of kids to be tutored! The main goal of the “teacher-for-a-day” is to review, tutor, and reinforce said lessons to the children.
Volunteers will be given an orientation before the start of the activity; however, it is highly encouraged that you study the assigned lessons of all the grade levels for the day and read the respective pages in the books on your own. Studying the lessons in advance would help you be a more effective “teacher-for-a-day” which would help the students even more!
Join us every Sunday and show your love for the kids!
Meet-up place: McDonalds LRT-1 Tayuman station at 7:00 am. Volunteers will leave no later than 7:15 am.
