Laon-Laan, Caloocan City Contact No.: 287-6113/ 09057090832/ 09482126270 HISTORY of AVE VERUM CANTANTES Their intense willingness to serve God, their distinct blend of tones and harmony, their unique friendship & camaraderie, and the ever present desire to share their talents in singing— are some of the characteristics that catapulted the Ave Verum Cantantes.  Founded in earlier part of December 2011, the Ave Verum Cantantes was first known to be the “Circle of Friends” ,a group of old friends from different choirs gathered together by their two Conductors, Mr. Francisco Viloria Jr and Mr. Rodel Paguirigan to perform in a special occasions like wedding and concerts. Formally organized as a new church choir in January 2012 composed of nine members in St. Pancracious Parish - La Loma, Caloocan City (as guest choir) and now a regular choir in St. Joseph the Workman Parish in 4th Ave, Caloocan City every Sunday ,6:30PM. Their first performance as a group was the “‘Sang Tinig 2010: Pinoy Ako” concert last December 2011 held in Our Lady of Abandon Church, Sta Ana, Manila for the benefit of its host Church. Members of Ave Verum Cantantes were associated with the well-known choirs including Bukas Palad, Koro Illustraedo, Nocturne Chorus and University of the East Choral. And some of them also joined contest and won 1st Runner-Up in the C5 Choral Competition way back 2010 before the choir began. Likewise, they also participate in various concerts like: ‘Sang Tinig 2012” organized by Bukas-Palad Chorale held in Our Lady of Annunciation Parish (Mindanao Avenue), “Inay” a benefit concert for St Joseph the Workman Parish last October 2012, “Pasasalamat! (Si Hesus, si Maria, at ang Pasko)”, a benefit concert for Sta Teresa de Avila Chapel held in L Lupa, C. Namie, Caloocan City (organized by our group with the help of Sta Teresa Choir) December 2012, and lastly, “A Song for A Soul” (A Benefit Concert for reconstruction of Old Churches in Bohol which are damaged last 2013 earthquake) held in Oreta Sports Center, Malabon City last November 2013. Despite their lack of membership, Avecans has successfully accomplished several projects including charity works like “Gamit mo sa Eskwela, Sagot namin ni Ate at Kuya” (now on its year 4), which give some elementary students school supplies in the coming school year. They conducted several activities like: “2 Years of Love”, an anniversary charity event entitled, held in Assosacion de Damas de Filipinas last January 2014, “Halloween Party 2014” held in St. Joseph the Workman Parish last October 2014, “2014 Ave Verum Cantantes Team Building“ held in Ninoy Aquino Parks & Wildlife, last November 2014, “Give a Box of Love”, a Valentine Charity Event (gift giving activity) last February 2015 and recently, their organization’s 1st Lenten Recollection last March 2015. They also participate in DSWD- “Medical Mission for the Street Dwellers in NCR 2012” as a medical staff and lecturer last April 2012. Also, their member are regular volunteer in Missionaries of Charities in Tayuman, Manila. Prompt by tears of emotion, pearls of laughter, and gasps of astonishment from their audiences in every performance, Ave Verum Cantantes takes pride on its versatility to perform religious and novelty repertoire. They emanate youthful energy and poise; they pour their hearts out, allowing not just their voice to be heard, but also their souls to be felt by the listeners and most especially to praised God
