Mission statement

We, the Young Men's Christian Association of Davao, a Christ-centered volunteer lay movement, as catalyst of developmental change towards a just and humane society and committed to the upliftment of the Filipinos through the development of the youth into future leaders of the country. We are committed to raising the youth into God-centered and morally upright men and women, imbued with an entrepreneurial spirit and seeking opportunities towards spiritual, physical and mental growth.

YMCA of Davao is one of the many chapters of the World YMCA, which has been empowering the youth and transforming communities for over 175 years.

The YMCA is one of the world’s largest and oldest youth-serving NGOs whose grand legacy of inventions includes popular ball games like basketball, volleyball, and futsal. Its programs are anchored upon three main thrusts: Mind, Body, and Spirit. Mental, physical and spiritual wellness make up for a holistic development of young people and communities.

As of 2017, the YMCA has 919, 671 volunteers worldwide and continues to welcome more into its door.
