Island Rescue Organization (IRO) is a non‑profit NGO based in the province of Cebu dedicated to relieving the plight of animals in the region through Rescue, Education, and Advocacy. IRO rehomes rehabilitated pets, and provides a healthy, loving, no-kill sanctuary for rescued animals. We envision a community where animals are treated humanely, and where people advocate for the animals' rights.
At IRO, we believe it takes a village to help animals.
We are volunteer-run and our volunteers are at the core of our mission. Through their time, compassion, and dedication, we are able to inspire behavior change, raise awareness, and create a kinder community for animals.
Our volunteer activities offer a chance to learn, contribute, and connect with fellow advocates and volunteers who believe it truly takes a community to create change.
Work with us in our adoption events, community stray feeding, shelter management, dog socialization, fostering, rescue, and education campaigns.
We are open to scheduled visits and volunteer events at Camp IRO shelter (where bulk of our dog and cat population is) and IRO ‘O’ Cattery (which houses majority of our cat rescues, specializing in caring for special-needs cats).
