Trip/Event Coordinators for Help Save the Laguna Pit Bulls Project

Looking for volunteers who love dogs!

In March 2012, an estimated 266 pit bulls were rescued from a dog-fighting syndicate. Many of the animals were found in very poor health. They were cruelly chained to posts buried in filthy mud with nothing more than cut-out steel drums for shelter. They were terribly malnourished, many with wounds inflicted during dog-fighting. Many were suffering from exposure to the elements. Despite medical care, many dogs perished or had to be put to sleep to end their suffering.

Today, 125 remain and CARA continues to medicate them daily because of their ill health–a result of the poor living conditions and lack of medical care in the hands of the dog fighters. CARA wants these surviving dogs to get a chance to live normal lives. But they cannot do it alone. Please help out!

We are looking for volunteers who can oversee visits to the Laguna Pit Bull Center (LPB).

What you will be doing:
·       Organize and schedule volunteer visits to the center once or twice a month
·       Coordinate with volunteers through emails, text messages, and calls
·       Responsible for the safety and general well-being of LPB volunteers during their visit to center
·       Train and orient LPB volunteers on guidelines and proper handling of dogs
·       Maintain a database of LPB volunteers
·       Assit potential fosters/adopters during their visit

Time Commitment/ Training & Support
·     To start, must be able to visit the center for 2 consecutive weeks. It will allow you to get to know our pit bulls and learn more about the center.
·     Can commit as a volunteer for a minimum of 6 months.

Those who live in Quezon and Laguna are welcome! We have weekly trips for those living in Metro Manila. For security reasons we will only disclose the location of the Laguna Pit Bulls Sanctuary to volunteers who have gone through the orientaion.

Who can help:
·       Must love animals and not scared of big dog breeds
·       Physically fit
·       Can speak fluent English and Filipino
·       Pleasing personality and likes working with people
·       Due to location, these are most beneficial for nearby residents of Laguna or Quezon.

Benefits:
·       Get to know a lot of different people with the same love for animals.
·       He/she will also make a huge difference in the lives of rescued pit bulls.
