Tara, Laro Tayo! Where Water Flows, Equality Grows

Clean Water & Sanitation, Environment & Sustainability, Gender Equality & Empowerment, Peace & Conflict Resolution, Volunteerism | Mar 22, 2026 | Volunteer Event

World Water Day and Rugby is a fantastic way to teach teamwork, flow, and the importance of every “drop” in a community. Rugby is all about movement and supporting your teammates, it's a perfect metaphor for Water Conservation,  Environmental Stewardship, and Gender Equity

The Davao Durians Rugby Football Club initiates this critical intersection and is inviting volunteers to help us teach the children of our partner communities that just as every player is vital on the pitch, every drop of water is vital for the future.

If you got the energy of a breakaway sprint and the steady hand of a lineout throw, we need you to assist our youth from SOS Children's Village, Balay Pasilungan, and Balay Kalamboan realize that saving the planet is a co-ed sport.

The Starting Line-up:

Eco-Rugby Mentors:  Lead rugby games that symbolize “Shared Burden” of resource management. Help the boys and girls understand that protecting our water is a team effort that transcends gender roles.

Equity Strategists: The “Sustainability Mentors” facilitate fun and interactive discussions in between games on simple ways to conserve water at home and in the community, and to promote women and girls to have transformative, rights-based approach on opportunities in water decision-making.

Hydration Hype-Squad: Keep the momentum (and the water bottles) flowing while teaching the kids that a drop saved is a game won.

Our Impact: The Global Goals

The activity tackles on UN Sustainable Goals head on:
