SOS Children’s Village Davao warmly invites kind-hearted and dedicated volunteers to serve as Resource Speaker for an upcoming session designed for children and youth. This initiative aims to equip participants with essential life skills that will support their overall well-being and personal development.
We are seeking volunteers who are willing to share their knowledge and expertise on the following topics on April 23, 2026, 9:00 AM- 12:00 noon.
- Proper Nutrition, Grooming, and Personal Hygiene – to promote healthy habits, self-care, and confidence among children and youth.
- Coping Strategies for Managing Stress and Daily Challenges – to help participants develop resilience, emotional awareness, and practical ways to handle everyday pressures.
Through your valuable time and guidance, you can make a meaningful impact in shaping the lives of young individuals and empowering them towards a healthier, more resilient future.
Qualifications of Volunteer Resource Speakers
- Must be knowledgeable or experienced in topics related to life skills, such as proper nutrition, personal hygiene, grooming, and stress management.
- Preferably with a background in education, social work, psychology, health, or related fields (but not strictly required).
- Has experience in facilitating sessions, training, or working with children and youth.
- Must uphold child protection principles and values.
Roles and Responsibilities of Volunteer Resource Speakers
- Prepare and deliver an engaging and age-appropriate ( target participants 8 years old and above) session based on the assigned topic.
- Develop or use appropriate training materials, activities, and visual aids to enhance learning.
- Encourage active participation and interaction among children and youth.
- Provide accurate, relevant, and practical information that participants can apply in their daily lives.
- Maintain a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment at all times.
Responsibilities of the Organizing Team (SOS Children’s Village Davao)
- Coordinate with volunteer resource speakers regarding the schedule, session topics, and program flow.
- Provide necessary logistical support such as venue, equipment, and materials needed for the session.
- Ensure a safe, organized, and child-friendly environment for all participants and volunteers.
- Assist in the facilitation and overall management of the activity.
- Provide meals/snacks (if applicable) during the activity.
- Award certificates of appreciation to volunteer resource speakers in recognition of their valuable contribution.
- Provide a token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their time and effort.
