SOS Children’s Village Davao warmly invites kind-hearted and dedicated volunteers to serve as Resource Speakers for an upcoming learning session designed for SOS Mothers and Aunties. This initiative aims to strengthen their knowledge, skills, and personal development as primary caregivers, enabling them to provide holistic care and guidance to the children under their supervision.

We are seeking volunteers who are passionate about sharing their expertise in the following modules:

1. Educational Development (Module 10) – focusing on supporting children’s learning, academic growth, and educational needs.
2. Mothers’ Self-Development Opportunities and Management Skills (Module 13) – enhancing personal growth, leadership, and effective household and caregiving management.
3. Guidance and Counseling (Module 18) – equipping caregivers with basic counseling skills to better support the emotional and behavioral needs of children.
4. Care for Adolescents ( Module 11)- Understanding the term adolescence and the key challenges and risks that adolescents are facing

Through this volunteer opportunity, resource speakers will play a vital role in empowering SOS Mothers and Aunties, helping them become more confident, capable, and responsive caregivers. Your time, knowledge, and dedication will greatly contribute to nurturing a supportive and development-focused environment for both caregivers and children.

Qualifications of Resource Speakers

1. Educational Development (Module 10)

• Background in Education, Child Development, or related field.
• Knowledgeable in child learning strategies, academic support, and developmental milestones.

2. Mothers’ Self-Development Opportunities and Management Skills (Module 13)

• Background in Social Work, Psychology, Human Resource Management, or related fields.
• Knowledgeable in time management, household management, and personal growth strategies.

3. Guidance and Counseling (Module 18)

• Background in Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, or Social Work.
• Knowledgeable in basic counseling techniques, child behavior management, and emotional support strategies.

4. Care for Adolescents ( Module 11)

• Background in Psychology, Guidance and Counseling, or Social Work.
• Knowledgeable in basic counseling techniques, child behavior management, and emotional support strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities of Resource Speakers

• Facilitate and deliver the assigned module provided by SOS Children’s Village Davao effectively and clearly.
• Review and prepare based on the provided module prior to the session.
• Engage participants through discussions, activities, and sharing of practical insights.

Responsibilities of the Organization

• Provide the official modules to be used during the session.
• Provide meals/ snacks
• Issue certificates of appreciation to the volunteer resource speakers.
• Assist in the facilitation and overall management of the activity.
• Provide meals/snacks (if applicable) during the activity.
• Award certificates of appreciation to volunteer resource speakers in recognition of their valuable contribution.
• Provide a token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their time and effort.
