ARAL PINOY Sulok Aralan Computer Literacy Project

History:  

The ARAL PINOY Sulok Aralan Computer Literacy Project, in collaboration with Teacher Johan and Kuya Raul from the Child and Youth Development initiative at GK Hiyas, Manila, aims to empower students from Barangay 164, Zone 18, 411, Vitales Street, Malibay, Pasay. The project is designed to enhance digital literacy to help students develop valuable skills for education and future employment. With the support of Barangay 164’s Kagawad, Gabby Cruz Amagan (09543705670), this initiative is part of a broader effort to extend educational support beyond the community. What:  

The Computer Literacy Project will provide essential training to students from Barangay 164. Volunteers are needed to guide the students in learning in READING, MATH and COMPUTER. They will assist Teacher Sir Johan (09562004822). The sessions will be held every Saturday and Sunday from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, at the Barangay 164 community center.

  • Time: 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM
  • Location: Barangay 164, Zone 18, 411, Vitales Street, Malibay, Pasay City
  • Volunteer Session: Every Saturday and Sunday

What are the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)?

The SDGs are goals created by world leaders to make the world a better place by 2030. These goals focus on things like ending poverty, protecting the planet, and making sure everyone has a good life. Aral Pinoy, through its volunteer programs, helps achieve some of these goals. SDGs it supports:

  • SDG 1 - No Poverty
  • SDG 4 - Quality Education
  • SDG 10 - Reduced Inequalities

What to expect?

  • Volunteers will assist in teaching basic Microsoft Office
  • The goal is to equip the students with essential skills that will enhance their academic performance and future career opportunities.

What to contribute?  

  • Volunteers should be familiar with Microsoft Office.
  • Feel free to share educational materials, such as printed tutorials or helpful resources for the students.

What do I need to prepare?

  • Be at the venue by 1:00 PM for registration and setup.
  • Ensure that you have all the necessary teaching aids.
  • There are no mandatory fees, but volunteers may want to bring personal funds for meals.
  • Please note that this event may be cancelled without prior notice. It’s best to contact Teacher Sir Johan (09562004822) for confirmation.

What are the minimum public health standards?

  • Continue observing proper health and safety protocols to ensure the well-being of the community
  • Please present a valid ID (and your vaccination card is OPTIONAL)
  • Wear face masks (at all times is OPTIONAL)
  • Wash hands as frequently as possible
  • Bring hand sanitizer or alcohol with you

How much pocket money should I bring?

  • Food is KKB. The estimated food allowance is ₱300 (personal money)
