Build the Arena: Field Setup & Ingress Crew for Kadayawan T1 Rugby Festival

Sports & Recreation, Volunteerism | Aug 21, 2026 | Volunteer Event

Every great sporting moment starts with a perfectly prepared field.

The Davao Durians Rugby Football Club is hosting the Kadayawan T1 Rugby Festival at the University of the Philippines Mindanao! T1 Rugby is an inclusive, non-contact format designed to bring youth together. As a Sport for Development (S4D) initiative, this festival uses the power of sports to champion the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—specifically focusing on Good Health and Well-Being (SDG 3), Gender Equality (SDG 5), Clean Water and Sanitation (SDG 6), and creating safe, sustainable communities for children (SDG 11 & SDG 16).

Before the first whistle blows, we need a dedicated Field Setup & Ingress Crew to transform the UPMin grounds into a safe, vibrant tournament venue. If you enjoy hands-on work, physical coordination, and seeing an event come to life from scratch, this role is for you!

To fully prepare the venue, our physical preparation team will be divided into the following specialized roles:

  • 📐 Pitch Dimensions & Marking Crew: Responsible for measuring out the precise field boundaries for the T1 Rugby format, laying down safe temporary lining, and anchoring corner flags and grid cones.
  • 🎪 Tent & Station Assemblers: Tasked with erecting pop-up tents, positioning tables, and setting up chairs for key areas like the Registration Desk, Technical Officials' table, and the Media/Documentation hub.
  • 🖼️ Branding & Advocacy Installers: Secures the festival's main backdrops, directional signs, partner tarpaulins, and educational banners around the fences and tents.
  • ⚡ Sound & Tech Ingress Support: Assists in running extension cords safely, setting up the basic PA system/megaphones for the ground announcer, and ensuring tech stations are weather-protected.

🎁 Perks & Logistics

  • Please note that volunteers are requested to bring their light snacks and hydration.
  • The club will happily provide your snacks & water, throughout the setup to keep you energized and fully hydrated!
  • You will receive an official Certificate of Volunteer Service from Davao Durians RFC.

🛡️ Safeguarding Commitment

Because this tournament directly involves children and youth, all selected venue volunteers must adhere to the club's Child and Youth Safeguarding Policy. A brief orientation regarding safe field design, physical hazard checks, and basic venue safety protocols will be conducted for the team before setup begins.
