Teacher / Instructor in basic Reading and Writing for Children and Youth

SOS Children’s Village Davao warmly knocks to kind-hearted and dedicated volunteers who wants to serve as TEACHER / INSTRUCTOR for the children in need under our care. With delicate and meticulous assessment from our social workers, they have found out that most of the children and youth are lacking when it comes to basic writing and reading. 

Affecting the subject areas of: 

  • English and Filipino

While, these children and youth were enrolled in respective public schools available in the area, most of them struggles to read words and paragraphs. With your help and support, rendering your time and expertise to help these children in need, who will one day become good or great people in the community, will eventually become meaningful in the end. 

Qualifications of a Teacher/Instructor

1. Reading and Writing

  • Background in Education, Child Development, or related field.
  • Knowledgeable in child learning strategies, academic support, and developmental milestones.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and deliver basic foundational elements of the subjects in need.
  • Review and prepare the module or learning materials which you will be providing.
  • Engage participants through discussions, activities, and sharing of practical insights.

Responsibilities of the Organization

  • Provide meals/ snacks
  • Issue certificates of appreciation to the volunteer teacher/instructor.
  • Assist in the facilitation and overall management of the activity.
  • Provide meals/snacks (if applicable) during the activity.
  • Award certificates of appreciation to volunteer teacher/instructor in recognition of their valuable contribution.
  • Provide a token of appreciation as a gesture of gratitude for their time and effort.
