Volunteer Description

Through our recent partnership with Ermita Catholic School, Childhope Philippines’ scholars have been integrated into the formal school system. As part of our continuing support for their education, we are looking for volunteers who can help provide after-school tutorial sessions to our scholars.

Tutorial sessions will be conducted at Ermita Catholic School, Manila, every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday after school hours, with the guidance and supervision of a Childhope Philippines social worker.

The volunteer opportunity is open to individuals who are willing to share their time, knowledge, and skills to help children improve their academic performance and develop greater confidence in their studies.

While volunteers with expertise in core subject areas are highly encouraged to apply, this opportunity is not limited to licensed teachers or education professionals. College students, professionals, and individuals with knowledge and experience in relevant academic subjects are welcome to volunteer.

Tutees: Elementary and Junior High School students

Roles of Volunteers

• Guide and support the scholars during tutorial sessions
• Provide academic assistance and tutorials in core subject areas
• Help the scholars understand their lessons and complete school-related activities
• Encourage and motivate the scholars in their studies
• Coordinate with the Childhope Philippines social worker regarding the scholars’ learning needs

Volunteers with expertise in English, Mathematics, Science, Filipino, and other core subject areas are highly encouraged to participate.

Responsibilities of the Organization

• Issue certificates of appreciation to volunteers
• Assist in the facilitation and overall management of the activity
• Provide guidance and support through a Childhope Philippines social worker during tutorial sessions
• Coordinate with the school and volunteers to help ensure the smooth implementation of the program
