About the Role

Every farmed animal has a story, but not all of them get to be heard. That’s where you come in. AEP’s Storytellers for Farmed Animals program gives you the platform to bring these issues into the open, with your articles published on AEP’s website during Farmed Animal Welfare Week in October through the end of the year. We’ll walk alongside you with topic prompts, editorial feedback, and all the support you need. And because your voice deserves recognition, every article will carry your name. Key Responsibilities

• Write one original article based on the topic or prompt provided by AEP.
• Follow AEP’s writing, messaging, and submission guidelines.
• Submit the completed article before the campaign period.
• Coordinate with the AEP team regarding revisions or editorial feedback.
• Help amplify the article by sharing or republishing it on personal platforms or other relevant channels.

What We’re Looking For

• Strong written communication and storytelling skills.
• An interest in farmed animal welfare, advocacy, food systems, sustainability, or related issues.
• The ability to explain ideas clearly and engagingly.
• Openness to feedback and revisions.
• Commitment to meeting the assigned submission deadline.

Previous professional writing experience is welcome but not required.

Expected Output

• One completed blog article submitted before October 2026.
• Optional republication or promotion of the article through the volunteer’s personal or professional platforms.
