Volunteer Event
Help us reach the Summit!
Project CLIMB (Create Learning in Mountain Barangays) is a digital readiness initiative under Create Library. Through the CLIMB Drive, we collect literacy and numeracy materials that will be delivered to remote upland communities. You can learn more about the project here.
Book Sorters, Encoders, and Packers will help the Create Foundation team in organizing all the book donations that we will be receiving during the month of August. We are looking for 3 volunteers for each role. For specific responsibilities and date of engagement, please see below:
1. Book Sorters (September 7, 2026)
- Inspect incoming book donations for quality to ensure they are in great condition for young readers.
- Sort and group materials by category, reading level, and subject (literacy vs. numeracy).
2. Book Encoders (September 8-9, 2026)
- Log inventory details (such as titles, genres, and quantities) into the digital database to keep track of all donations.
- Help maintain accurate records so the team knows exactly what resources will be received by the partner community.
3. Book Packers (September 10, 2026)
- Carefully pack categorized books into secure, travel-ready boxes for transport to remote mountain communities.
- Label boxes clearly by subject and reading level to ensure seamless distribution upon arrival.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Able to commit to a minimum of 3-5 hours per week, or depending on the role assigned
- Willing to undergo any required training or orientation before starting
- Able to attend on-site activities, if required by the role
- Willingness to comply with the Foundation's Code of Conduct and safety policies
