How would you like to be part of ensuring our public schools get ready to receive computers and equipments much needed for the K-to-12 program?

People-Powered Computer Monitoring for Good Governance (POCOMON-GO) is a project funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the Affiliated Network for Social Acccountability in East Asia and the Pacific (ANSA-EAP) under the CheckMySchool (CMS) initiative. It aims to monitor the delivery of UNDP-procured computers for the Department of Education (DepEd) for use in public senior high schools as part of the K-12 program.

iVolunteer will help send volunteers to these 66 schools in Metro Manila and be the third party monitors of this project. We will need to do the School Readiness check. The School Readiness check will happen from Oct 24 to Oct 26, 2016.

We would need at least 2 volunteers to go to each school to do the school readiness check.

Volunteer responsibilities include:

Before School Visit
  • Know the schedule of activities.
  • Get in touch with the assigned iVolunteer coordinator. Receive your assigned school.
  • Coordinate with the school head/officer in-charge of the conduct of the monitoring activities through brief introduction of self and purpose of visit.
  • Ensure that your android phones are capable of connecting to the internet.
During
  • Visit the school assigned at the designated schedule of activity. Present copy of DepEd endorsement.
  • Utilize the monitoring toolkit in assessing the readiness of the schools for the expected deliveries.
  • Upload accomplished tool and photo
After
  • Update the assigned coordinator of the result of the submission of reports (whether successful or not).
  • Document necessary expenses incurred during the activity.

This volunteer work is entitled to some transportation and mobile phone data allowance. Volunteer work will take about 1 hour to travel to the school, about 2 hours to do the physical check in the school and about 0.5 hour to submit the collected data online

Once you sign-up, the iVolunteer coordinator will contact you to brief you on the work.

Looking forward to your help volunteers!
