Promote a stage play and help rebuild Marawi

Arts & Culture | Apr 20, 2018 | Volunteer Event

Calling on volunteer bloggers and volunteer theater reviewers!

Tanghalang Ateneo is staging an adaptation of "Lysistrata," the classic comedy on how a band of women was able to stop a war, at the Doreen Black Box, Areté, Ateneo de Manila University. The play opens April 17 and will run through May 5.

The adaptation is entitled “Lysistrata ng Bakwit” as it draws inspiration from the Marawi crisis and the wars that have left many people displaced in evacuation centers.  Part of the proceeds will go to the Marawi Relief Fund.

Volunteers have to watch the play (no entrance fee for volunteers) during the opening week April 17-22, then write a blog review that can be promoted on university social media channels. A published blog review will get a volunteer two tickets for other playdates and backstage access to Tanghalang Ateneo actors.  Shows are scheduled at 7:30 pm with Satruday and Sunday matinees at 2:30 pm.

The production is a lot of fun but it also has a serious message about peace in our land. It also has a mature content so only viewers 18 years old will and above will be allowed in.
