The Chinben See Memorial Library currently has 15,000+ titles in its collections. Around half of the titles are already digitized, but in an old system called WIN ISYS. The data is cross-encoded in a regular MS Excel file as back up.
We need a programmer who can help us convert our old system into an online-based library catalogue. Possible volunteers may check out the online library systems of the University of the Philippines and Ateneo de Manila University as samples. As well, the online catalogue should include an article index search option for the archival collections of the Library (in print and microfilm). The bonus is if the catalogue can include Chinese titles that will also be searchable online.
Open source software called Evergreen is available and we would like to maximize this. One of our volunteers already verified that WIN ISYS can be transferred to Evergreen. Please check http://evergreen-ils.org
