Volunteer Event
It's volunteer day every Saturday at Tahanang Balik Alay! Well, volunteers are welcome anyday, anytime, but this is the perfect day to meet-up with other volunteers and plan for the elders.
We are a relatively new shelter for the elderly, and we need project managers, organizers, coordinators, foot soldiers, or even just simple lowly volunteers (mere angels in disguise), dropping by and cheering up the elders.
Perhaps you can teach them a new hobby, a new game, a skill, hold a Bible study or just talk the time away with them. They do have a lot of stories to tell, plenty of wisdom to impart and sad to say, even pain in their heart, that they still wouldn't want to let go of... (talk to them and bring a handkerchief for your own tears - they have their own).
All in all, this is a fun (they are still funny) and loving community. We promise to make you feel right at home. You take care of the elders, and we take care of you. :)
Oh and anything you can spare like healthy canned goods, bread and vegetables will be appreciated.
From Ortigas ave, take the Binangonan/Angono jeep - the nearest landmark is the G-Liner bus terminal and we're at the street corner of the Manlapaz furniture store - around 100 meters before Taytay Memorial Gardens.
