Edicute Incorporated, a nonprofit volunteer organization committed to promote education amongst Filipino indigenous peoples will conduct its annual back to school program, "Balik Eskwela" on 25-26 of May 2019 in Sitio Kilapnit, Brgy. Panaytayan, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro. 

Here is your chance to give, share, support and experience volunteering for 300 Mangyan kids through provision of school supplies this coming school year 2019-2020!

Join us and volunteer to help us implement the Balik Eskwela Outreach 2019!

We need 45 volunteers to

  • Cook and Distribute food
  • Story-tell & Conduct games
  • Take photos & videos
  • Sort donations
  • Prepare Balik Eskwela School & Hygiene Kits
  • Other activities for the kids
  • Livelihood seminar for parents

Volunteers will be requested to shoulder their transportation expenses and food (Estimate of Php2,500 – 3,000). 

Departure from the RORO Bus SM Marikina Terminal will be on May 24 (Friday) 07:00PM

 

What to Expect:

  • 4-hr hike while carrying donations
  • No signal
  • No electricity
  • Water sourced from pump
  • Life changing experience

*Reminder: Health is the most important thing for every volunteer whom will be joining, so we’ll be requiring volunteers to be at their topmost health to avoid any unnecessary injures or complications  during the outreach.

 

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

May 11, 2019 8:30 AM at Ayala Triangle Makati

All volunteers are required to attend and required to pay (Php1250), non-refundable, non-transferable. This will cover for bus, roro, trucks going to Mindoro. We will collect the travel expenses during said orientation.

 

OTHER WAYS YOU CAN HELP?

DONATE IN CASH. For only PhP500, you can enjoy the convenience of sending a special back to school package to one (1) Mangyan child. Your donation would include the following: (i) school bag; (ii) notebooks; (iii) pad/notepad papers; (iv) pencils (v) ballpens; (vi) crayons; (vii) pencil eraser; (viii) pencil sharpener; and (ix) small hygiene kit. Part of your donation will also cover costs of food supplies for the feeding program, materials to be used for the activities during the outreach, and other related expenses. 

Cash donations can be deposited to our BPI Account: 4031-0053-83 (Edicute Incorporated). Please email a copy of your deposit slip to edicute.incorporated@gmail.com with your name on it so we could properly monitor donations and prepare a report to be shared to donors after. 

 

DONATE IN-KIND. You also have the option of donating in kind. Aside from school supplies, we are also collecting the following: (i) old clothes; (ii) old/new toys for kids (iii) storybooks; (iv) vitamins & OTC medicines; (v) personal hygiene products like bath soap; and (vi) detergent.

*NOTE: we will not accept used underwear, formal clothing, destroyed footwear. All in-kind donations will be sorted and if there are items that can't be used by the community, this will be returned to the donor.
