Tidying Taal VI (Water Hyacinth Collection)

We are looking for:

Volunteers who can help us tidy up the shoreline of Lake Taal. We will pick up  WATER HYACINTH (Water Lily) and some plastic wastes if there'll be any. Water hyacinths will be used for our composting and soil erosion management.

 

Where and when do we need you?

At Pusod Taal Lake Conservation Center,  before 8:00 am please for safety management guidelines and waiver signing. Short discussion of the environmental threats and conservation efforts are discussed before and after the hauling of water hyacinths. We strictly start the activity 8:00 am.

What to bring?

  • hat & gloves
  • slippers, working shoes, boots (highly recommended)
  • sacks  (garbage bags are not advisable)
  • drinking water in tumbler/reusable bottle
  • food in reusable containers please
  • sunblock, shades and extra-clothes
  • Php 100 for your local fees (entrance, ecological and conservation fees)

 

Expect:

  • rain or morning heat
  • marshy shoreline (we have shower rooms where you can take a bath after the activity)
  • learnings about the Taal Volcano Protected Landscape and efforts on conservation :)
