Disaster Preparedness & Response | Feb 22, 2020 | Volunteer Event

Pagbati!

Pusod works with Lake Taal communities since 2006 on conservation and ecotourism initiatives in the protected area. With the unrest of the decade volcano, communities have disrupted lives, anxious of the uncertainties of the current alert level, displaced to different evacuation camps/ temporary shelters and coping with their loss of livelihood.

Efforts on disaster response are still on-going and participatory recovery planning is almost complete. Pusod needs volunteer(s) who can:

  1. Capture drone videos/ aerial shots of the relocation site where the housing for Calauit community and temporary shelters for those displaced from Pulo or volcano island residents.
  2. Video clips of the relocation site
  3. StarGet the GPS location of Jowivil Subd., the relocation site.

These data will be used in:

a. Resource Mobilization - call for help/ support for the disaster resilience/ recovery work in Balete, Batangas

b. Planning - if we can have aerial shot of the area, it'll be helpful for solid waste movement, identifying social spaces, disaster preparedness, etc.
