Arroceros Forest Park - A walk to remember

Environment & Sustainability | Jan 01, 1970 | Volunteer Event

Experience and Protect the Last Lung of Manila!

We need our own Bantay Gubat in the heart of the city. Arroceros Forest Park (AFP) has been in danger of getting demolished to give way to another concrete structure or another for too long. Although that danger seems to have passed, it is important that we continue to show the city that we want NATURE! We need to show everyone, especially our public officials, that we NEED MORE GREEN OPEN SPACES in the city.

Pandacan Ecology is doing its part by organizing FREE AFP Walks since January 2020. Our goal is to create eco-awareness. We hope that with your help you can let everyone know that Manila has a munting gubat (mini forest) generating fresh air to combat pollution.

What do we expect from you?

  • Walk with us as we share with you the story of the park.
  • Share your experiences with friends and family -- via photos, videos, social media, blogs, vlogs, art works, or other media form.
  • SIGN UP AND SHOW UP.

For inquiries, contact Donna Duran at 09332346689 or Juliet Romano at 0947 3767363.

SLOTS ARE LIMITED. By signing up you are committing to this volunteer opportunity. If you cannot make it, please let us know three days in advance so we can free up another slot. Please let us respect volunteers and the effort, time, and passion we put in for a cause. Let us not sabotage good work with irresponsibility. Thank you!

About Pandacan Ecology Ministry

Our mission is to create an eco-friendly Manila where everyone ACTIVELY cares for the environment.

We are a volunteer group in Pandacan, Manila engaged in taking action to protect our environment. Currently, we are also working on a plastic waste recovery and recycling initiative. We have succeeded in creating a collection/sorting system and getting industry partners to recycle plastic waste into useful bricks that can be used as construction materials and bring income to partner barangays.

We are based in Pandacan, Manila.
