“Ayos ka Lungs?”: Help us treat TB among our dear homeless | Jul 27, 2023, Thurs | Volunteer Event
TB is a silent killer, especially among our dear homeless.
Join our early detection, care, & treatment of tuberculosis for street dwellers & the urban poor project from 8AM to 3PM.
We have a mobile clinic that will be going to key points in Metro Manila to reach more homeless & other vulnerable sectors to get X-ray tests done & detect TB.
We need 3 able-bodied volunteers who will help us manage the queue & usher the homeless for an X-ray test in our mobile clinic.
Meals will be provided.
Kindly contact Ellen 24 hours before the event so we know you're coming!
We will be going to Manila North Cemetery to do the X-rays, but we can pick you up at the AJ Kalinga Office at 1916 Oroquieta Road, Sta. Cruz, Manila by 6.30AM.
What to bring:
- Face mask
- Hand sanitizer
- Change of clothes (if you think you'll need it)
- water bottle
- Phone/camera (Document your visit, share the experience on social media & tag us!)
Pick-up point at AJ Kalinga Office, Tayuman, Manila:
- Via LRT 2, from Araneta Cubao station, get off at Recto station. Walk to LRT 1 & ride the Monumento-bound train & get off at Tayuman station. It will be a 3-min walk towards AJ Kalinga Center. It's beside Catholic Trade store.
- If you're driving, check out the map. Let us know if you need parking, so we can reserve a slot a day before.
