Volunteer for Lumad Emergency Response - Communications & Fundraising

Poverty | Sep 18, 2015 | Volunteer Event

Hi there! As many of you know, many lumad communities in Surigao del Sur (and across Mindanao) have been forced to flee their homes due to conflict. Almost 3000 individuals are staying at the Tandag City Sports Complex; this number is steadily increasing.

ACCORD is committed to responding to the urgent needs of evacuees. We have already launched an appeal for donations (bit.ly/accordlumadppeal) last week. As a small organization with limited resources and staffing, we would like to ask for your help.

We are in urgent need of one (1) volunteer to help us out in communications and fundraising work. He or she will be tasked to write stories and social media posts, research and layout materials, edit and manage photos, coordinate with the media, and follow up with prospective donors.

Some quarters are already calling what is happening in Mindanao a "forgotten crisis." We must not let our lumad brothers and sisters, our fellow Filipinos, be forgotten. By clicking the sign-up button below, you would not only hone your skills, but contribute to a worthy cause. Volunteer now!

Sign-up now at bit.ly/accordvolunteerinfo and email your resume to masacupan@accord.org.ph. We will get back to you with more details shortly. Thank you!

PS You can also check out www.facebook.com/accordinc for more updates on what is happening as well as how you can help.
