About the Project

Founded in 2008, Binhi English Literacy Foundation Inc. (BINHI) aims to improve English reading skills to identified non- and frustrated readers aged between 5-8 years old in public elementary schools and community centers.

The program runs for 24 weeks and part of the class is a storytelling activity that fosters curiosity, engagement, and language development. At BINHI, we believe in the power of storytelling to spark a lifelong love of reading in young minds. The storytelling may either be conducted by the BINHI teacher or a volunteer.

To ensure our teachers and volunteers weave the most captivating tales, we partnered with the De La Salle Zobel de Ayala Learning Resource Center for a special two-part workshop:

• Traditional Storytelling Workshop (January 22, 1-3 PM): Master the art of captivating young audiences with captivating voices, expressions, and interactive techniques.
• Digital Storytelling Apps Workshop (January 25, 1-2:30 PM): Learn how to leverage technology to create vibrant and engaging stories using exciting apps and platforms.

Qualifications and Requirements

Everyone with a passion for reading and a desire to ignite young minds is welcome! Whether you're a seasoned storyteller or just starting out, your unique voice and enthusiasm can make a world of difference.

Expect to receive an email at least 3 days before the event with the rest of the details (general reminders, what to prepare, etc.)
