The ability to read is a fundamental right, yet many young Filipino children struggle to grasp this essential skill. At Binhi English Literacy Foundation, we're working to change that, one child at a time. You can be a vital part of this transformative journey by becoming a volunteer tester. Your contribution will provide us with crucial insights into our scholars' development, ensuring we're effectively nurturing their growth.

About the Project

Founded in 2008, Binhi English Literacy Foundation Inc. (BINHI) aims to improve English reading skills to identified non- and frustrated readers aged between 5-8 years old in public elementary schools and community centers.

The program runs for 24 weeks. Pupils are tested three times during the program period: pre-test, mid-test, and post-test. We are about to start a new school year for our program, and thus, we are preparing for the pre-test. Tester volunteers will help in the conduct of one-on-one test with pre-school students aged 4-5 years old at Rosalie Rendu Development Center in Parañaque City. Each test is expected to last around 20-30 minutes.

To ensure volunteers are well-prepared, an orientation will be conducted onsite.

Qualifications and Requirements

Before becoming a BINHI Tester, one must pass the following criteria:

• an advocate of literacy and independent learning with keen observation skills
• can listen and pay attention to important details
• willing to commit at least 4 hours of his/her time based on May 19 and willing to travel to Parañaque City

Timeline of Activities

• May 19, 2025 (Monday) | 8:00 AM – BINHI Volunteer Testers Orientation at Rosalie Rendu Development Center
• May 19, 2025 (Monday) | 9:00 AM – Pre-test Activity at Rosalie Rendu Development Center

Expect to receive an email at least 3 days before the activity with the rest of the details (general reminders, things to bring, directions, etc.)
