Story Books for Kids of AklaTahanan

Education | Dec 24, 2021 | Donation Program

AklaTahanan Projects aims to develop love for reading for children by providing them opportunities to read books with family, friends, and their immediate community. AklaTahanan has been sharing Filipino storybooks to communities in Alitagtag, Cuenca, and Lipa Batangas even in difficult times during the Taal Volcano’s eruption in January and in midst of the pandemic. Currently, AklaTahanan is partnering with public schools in improving the capacity of the parents and teachers in promoting and implementing various home-based reading strategies through “Unang Hakbang sa Pagbasa”, an online workshop on early reading literacy.

For this iVoluntree for Christmas Project of iVolunteer, the AklaTahanan would be grateful to receive 250 Filipino story books for ages 5 - 10 years old that will be distributed to one of its partner schools, TC Pasia Memorial School in Cuenca, Batangas for their reading program. The books will be used for book-borrowing activities. AklaTahanan has been supporting this school in training the reading literacy volunteers, parents, and teachers in using Marungko Approach for early reading and in applying the storytelling in the child’s home.

You can still volunteer and work together with AklaTahanan towards achieving their mission, even while staying at home! Through Treasure Volunteering, you can continue to make a positive impact by allowing you to donate either via GCash, Paypal or with your credit/debit card, so you can shine light and provide more opportunities to these communities.

May we continue to share our blessings with fellow Filipinos in need this Christmas Season.
