Clean-Up Drive: Volunteer Guidelines and Requirements

We appreciate your willingness to volunteer and support FBPI’s Clean-Up Drive. Your time, effort, and cooperation will help create a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment for our shelter.

1. Volunteer Participation

  • Volunteers are expected to actively participate in the Clean-Up Drive from the start until the completion of the activity.
  • Cooperate and work respectfully with FBPI staff, fellow volunteers, and participating children.
  • Follow the instructions of the assigned team leader or FBPI staff.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring a positive attitude, enthusiasm, and willingness to help.

2. Required Clothing

For safety and comfort, volunteers must wear:

  • Comfortable clothing appropriate for cleaning and outdoor activities.
  • Long pants or other appropriate protective clothing.
  • Closed-toe, non-slip shoes or sturdy footwear.
  • Clothing that is comfortable and suitable for movement and physical activity.

Avoid wearing slippers, sandals, loose clothing, or other items that may pose a safety risk.

3. Required Safety Gear

Volunteers must use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), as required by the activity, including:

  • Protective gloves
  • Face mask

Volunteers should not handle hazardous, sharp, or potentially dangerous materials unless specifically instructed and properly equipped to do so.

4. Safety and Cleanliness

  • Follow all safety instructions provided by FBPI staff or the assigned team leader.
  • Practice proper waste segregation and disposal.
  • Do not pick up unfamiliar, sharp, chemical, or hazardous materials without proper instruction and protection.
  • Immediately report accidents, injuries, hazards, or unsafe conditions to FBPI staff.
  • Stay within the designated clean-up area and avoid entering restricted areas.

5. Materials and Equipment

FBPI will provide the necessary cleaning materials and equipment for the Clean-Up Drive, as applicable.

Volunteers may bring personal items such as drinking water, sunscreen, or other necessities they may need during the activity.

6. Conduct and Professionalism

  • Treat all children, staff, volunteers, and other participants with respect and kindness.
  • Maintain appropriate behavior and professional boundaries when interacting with children.
  • Follow FBPI's policies and guidelines when participating in activities involving children.
  • Keep personal belongings secure and take responsibility for your own valuables.

7. Transportation

Volunteers are responsible for arranging and covering their own transportation to and from FBPI.

8. Refreshments

  • Light snacks and refreshments will be provided by FBPI during the Clean-Up Drive.
  • Volunteers are encouraged to bring their own drinking water or personal water bottle to stay hydrated throughout the activity.

8. Commitment and Responsibility

By participating in the Clean-Up Drive, volunteers agree to follow these guidelines, observe safety protocols, and cooperate with FBPI staff to ensure that the activity is safe, organized, and meaningful for everyone.
