What is ATD Fourth World Philippines?
All Together in Dignity (ATD) Fourth World is an international non-governmental organization with no religious or political affiliation who works with individuals and institutions to find solutions to eradicate extreme poverty. ATD works in partnership with people living in extreme poverty through its grassroots presence and involvement in disadvantaged communities, in urban and rural areas. It creates public awareness of extreme poverty and influences policies to address it.
Why do we need volunteers?
We need you because we regularly record the voice of people in extreme poverty. For us it is very important to keep track of what people have to say regarding their lives and aspirations. We need you to help us transcribe these recordings / texts from Tagalog into English.
It might be recordings of parents expressing their concerns regarding drop-out of school, difficulties to access Birth Certificates, which are the basis to access all other rights, or other concerns… It can also be the expression of youth living in extreme poverty and struggling to find their place in the society.
We would send you the recording file as well as a document ready for you to add your transcription and translation.
Your help will support a lot to raise the awareness regarding the situation of these people, their intelligence, their resilience, their actions.
